JUNE 2012
Clicker Clinic with Georgia Bruce

Susie and Abracadabra at the recent Georgia Bruce Clicker Training Clinic held in Wattle Glen.
Effective Clicker training methods work well with Classical Schooling, and can quickly resolve
many training and handling issues that riders come across. Understanding how animals learn to behave,
and also to misbehave, is the first step to schooling
horses successfully.
Clicker training is a brilliant way to improve your timing,
to create easier learning for horses.

Europe in the Saddle

Nicole Weinaugue in Germany,
Philippe Karl & Bea Borelle in France,
Sylvia Stossel in Switzerland and then
visiting the Spanish Riding School Vienna.

APRIL 2011
Sylvia Stossel Clinic at Juravon Park

The second Philippe Karl Teachers Course clinic in
Melbourne was highly successful with Swiss trainer
Sylvia Stossel. This clinic clearly reinforced the
Classical Principles with the fundamental aim of
achieving relaxation, lightness and self carriage.

With respect to the Horse the first priority, this clinic
was about 'legs without hands, hands without legs'.
The leg lesson: the prerequisite to all work, clearly
absolute lightness to the leg. Second, establishing
relaxation of the jaw, through a truly independent but
subtle seat, then using the weight and rein aids to
balance and lighten the horse's shoulders, and
rewarding with timely neck extensions.

There were clear demonstrations of how to simplify the
aids for teaching shoulder-in, and all lateral work.
Precision, timing, patience and frequent rewards
were key elements, and it was so inspiring to see every
horse and rider combination improve over the four days.

Sylvia Stossel returns in August to Perth and Melbourne to continue teaching the 16 participants on the 3 year Teachers Course and Philippe Karl returns in December 2011.

not to annoy the horse and
spoil his friendly charm,
for it is like the

never return."
